Stand Up for Darfur

Uniting college students across NJ to work together in raising awareness of the situation and taking a stand

mom and childA sub-committee of the Coalition

University students around NJ are joining together to raise awareness of the ongoing crisis in Darfur. Each day, the violence and suffering in this war-torn region continues and each day, more and more innocent people need our help. As Americans, we are fortunate to live in a country where we are sheltered, protected, and live relatively peaceful lives, filled with comforts and luxuries we tend to take for granted. Today, let's all take a minute to reflect on what we have and remember that there are those who live and die in far worse conditions.

What YOU can do:

We invite all New Jersey universities and colleges to join the Coalition. Please contact us our coalition representative Joyce Reilly at: joycereilly@aol.com

In April 2009, college students across NJ worked together to organize both advocacy events, aimed at raising awareness of the conflict, and fundraising events, with funds donated to the Oure Cassoni refugee camp.

We look forward to working with you and keeping you updated on events and developments in the near future. Together, we can take a stand!
