With this project, New Jersey is adopting Oure Cassoni Refugee Camp in Chad and aims to provide all the families there with a solar cooker. It has been demonstrated that once the need for women to leave refugee camps is reduced, the amount of violence committed against women and girls falls by over 80%. Donate now

Recent Events in the News

We are pleased to announce the creation of the Darfurian Voices Website at http://www.darfurianvoices.org. This site, Darfurian Voices: Supporting the People of Darfur in their Calls for a Just Peace, specializes in research on conflict in Darfur, Sudan. Using a combination of video testimony and public opinion research, it documents and broadcasts the views of Darfurian refugees on issues of peace, justice, and reconciliation. Press Release on Solar Cookers Project - NJ DARFUR COALITION SOLAR COOKER PROJECT RAISES $100,000 FOR OURE CASSONI REFUGEE CAMP

Darfur Instructional Guide NJ Commission on Holocaust Education – the Coalition produced an educational resource manual on genocide for use by social studies and world history high school teachers to assist them in teaching about genocide and Darfur.  This resource provides the history of the term genocide, prints the Convention on the Preventions and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, and discusses the History and background of Sudan and Darfur.
